Dearth

I've heard it said that honeybees face two winters. The obvious one is Winter. The other is the end of summer when things become dry and hot. There are less sources of nectar. So it becomes important to feed. Honeybees are beginning to rear winter bees at this time. The strength of the hive going into Winter will influence their survival.

The word I heard frequently in the yard today was dearth.

Also recommedned was this website for information about keeping bees healthy: https://honeybeehealthcoalition.org/
